Newport took the initial lead on Louie Jachim’s 54-yard touchdown run. The Knights then grabbed a 14-7 lead when quarterback Isaac Dotson rumbled into the end zone for a 13-yard TD.

Skyline kicked its offense into gear over the next two quarters going on a 34-6 run for a 41-20 lead. Kasen Williams sparked the scoring barrage with a 48-yard punt return for a touchdown. Sophomore quarterback Max Browne threw three of his four touchdown passes over the two-quarter frame, hitting Williams on a 29-yard strike, Kai Jandoc on a 29-yard pass and Jordan Simone for a 24-yard TD.

Jandoc also rushed for two late TDs, scoring from 1 and 3 yards. Simone caught two TD passes and threw for another, hitting Teran Togia on a 64-yard pass.

Skyline improved to 3-0 in league and 5-1 overall. The Spartans face non-league Jackson (3-3) at 7 p.m., Friday at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Eastlake makes quick work of non-league Mariner

Junior quarterback Keegan Kemp rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two more Friday as Eastlake dominated non-league Mariner 56-13.

Kemp rushed for scores from 1 and 17 yards in the first half, helping the Wolves to a 21-0 lead. He then hit Sam Gillis for a 31-yard TD and Colin Nelson for a 24-yard TD, lifting Eastlake to a 42-7 halftime lead.

Eastlake running back Kyle Lappano rushed for more than 100 yards for a fifth consecutive game, carrying the ball 16 times for 117 yards and three touchdowns. Lappano has now rushed for 873 yards and scored 10 TDs this season.

The Wolves improved to 5-1 overall with the win. They are 2-0 in league headed into this week’s game against sixth-ranked Issaquah (1-1, 5-1).

Issaquah rolls over Redmond

Quarterback Ethan Kalin passed for four touchdowns and running back Nik Landdeck rushed for two more TDs on Friday as Issaquah pounded Redmond 48-3.

Kalin found Evan Peterson on a 4-yard TD pass in the first quarter to open the floodgates. Peterson also added a 60-yard punt return for a TD in the second quarter, helping the Eagles to a 27-3 halftime lead.

Kalin also hit Jake Bakamus for TD passes of 24 and 20 yards, along with Reed Peterson on a 35-yard TD.

Landdeck rounded out the scoring with touchdown runs of 7 and 8 yards.

Issaquah improved to 1-1 in league and 5-1 overall. The Eagles host Eastlake (2-0, 5-1) at 7 p.m., Friday.
