Skyline rolls over Beamer

The Skyline Spartans cruised to a 54-14 win against the Beamer Titans in a winner-to-state, loser-out playoff game on Nov. 6 at Skyline High School in Sammamish. The Spartans scored 34 points in the second quarter and led Beamer 48-7 at halftime. Skyline (9-1) will host the Gig Harbor Tides in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs at 1 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Skyline High School in Sammamish.

Crusaders remain undefeated

The Eastside Catholic Crusaders earned a 49-20 victory against Edmonds-Woodway in a winner-state, loser-out game on Nov. 6 at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammmamish. The Crusaders (9-0) will host the Auburn-Mountainview Lions in the first round of the Class 3A state at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish. The date and time of the game have yet to be determined as of press time.

Skyline conquers Gig Harbor in first round

The Skyline Spartans registered a 2-0 win against the Gig Harbor Tides in the first round of the Class 4A state tournament on Nov. 10 at Skyline High School in Sammamish. Gabby Hart (16th minute) and Alexa Kirton (76th minute) each scored a goal for the Spartans. Emma Rohleder and Ava Giovanola had an assist apiece as well. Skyline will host Camas in the Class 4A quarterfinals at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Skyline High School in Sammamish.

Issaquah dominates Jackson

The Issaquah Eagles dominated in all phases, nabbing a 8-2 win against Jackson in the first round of the Class 4A state soccer tournament on Nov. 10 in Everett. Issaquah will face an undetermined opponent in the Class 4A quarterfinals on Nov. 14.

Crusaders earn trip to state tourney

The Eastside Catholic Crusaders went 2-2 at the Class 3A Sea-King District II volleyball tournament from Nov. 5 through Nov. 7. The Crusaders captured victories against Lake Washington and Bishop Blanchet but suffered losses to Holy Names Academy and Mercer Island. Eastside Catholic’s 3-0 win against Bishop Blanchet on Nov. 7 clinched a berth at the Class 3A state tournament. the Crusaders will face Auburn Riverside in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament at 8 a.m. on Nov. 13 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

Eastlake clinches berth at Class 4A state tournament

The Eastlake Wolves registered a 3-2 win against Camas in a winner-to-state, loser-out Class 4A KingCo playoff match on Nov. 7 at Eastlake High School in Sammmamish. The Wolves will face the Curtis Vikings in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

Battle Ground defeats Skyline in state play-in game

The Battle Ground Tigers defeated the Skyline Spartans in a winner-to-state, loser-out contest in Battle Ground on Nov. 7. The Spartans finished the 2015 season with an overall record of 12-7.
