Skyline earned its second straight 4A state soccer title Saturday evening, beating rival Issaquah 2-1 via a shootout.

Skyline earned its second straight 4A state soccer title Saturday evening, beating rival Issaquah 2-1 via a shootout.

Shea O’Donnell gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, before Issaquah’s Kristin Maris tied the contest in the 45th minute. The score remained tied through two overtimes.

Skyline eventually won the title, out-scoring the Eagles 3-1 in a shootout. Spartan junior goalkeeper Tina Vargas had two saves in the best-of-five, penalty-kick situation.
