Scores and highlights from the first week of prep girls basketball in Issaquah and Sammamish.

Skyline rolls past two foes to open season

The Spartans got the season started with a blowout win over 3A Mount Si 79-49, led by the 18 points of Bryn deVita and 17 from Shelby Kassuba.

Maddie Adamson added 10 in the win. Taylor McKerlich and deVita finished with a team high 13 rebounds in the win.

In its first matchup with a 4A KingCo foe, the Spartans were even more dominant, taking a 40-9 halftime lead en route to a 61-27 win.

Alex Daugherty was the high scorer with 10 points. McKerlich added nine and Cassidy Daugherty finished with eight for Skyline in the win.

Eastlake splits pair

Eastlake lost its opener, 63-59 at the hands of 2013 third-place state finisher Mount Rainier, but bounced back with a convincing win over Crest foe Bothell.

The Wolves took a 28-12 lead to the halftime break and got a game high 16 points from Ellie Woerner and Lauren Mittenthal in the win over the Cougars.

Eagles sneak by Garfield

Issaqauh built an nine-point advantage headed into the final quarter against Garfield before hanging on to get the 58-57 win.

Mandy Hill scored 32 points for the Eagles and Mackenzie Wieburg added 14 more.

Issaquah lost to Edmonds-Woodway 68-61 to begin the season last week.
