Eastlake out-shoots Mount Si

Eastlake continued its dominance on the golf course Thursday afternoon, earning a 217-291 victory over non-league Mount Si at Mount Si Golf Course.

Dana Mydland claimed medalist honors, shooting a 3-over-par, 39. Megan Wotherspoon was second with a 43, Tera Stenhouse was third with a 44, Sophia Palescar was fourth with a 45 and Emmie Schwartz and Hannah Taylor tied for fifth with a 46.

Issaquah nets victory over Skyline

Issaquah defeated league rival Skyline 5-2 Thursday afternoon, via three singles and two doubles victories.

The Eagles’ No. 2 player Dayna Benett beat Kelly Boudwin 6-3, 6-1, while No. 3 player Marcy Brummitt defeated Kristin Park, 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 and No. 4 player Morgan Gierke edged Laura Parson, 6-7, 7-5, 6-2.

The No. 1 doubles team of Sam Garrard and Mikea Asaba beat Molly Knutson-Alyson Opitz in two sets, 6-2, 6-1, while Sabrina Norton and Sabrina Patton defeated Jasmine Munoz and Kimberly Matsudaria in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6.

Skyline’s No. 1 singles player Alyssa Wilson beat Alisa Van Grunsven in two sets, 6-1, 6-3 and the Spartan’s No. 2 doubles team of Nicole Nagao and Emilie Lehman defeated Katherine Allison and Rachel Gonchar 6-3, 6-7, 6-2.

Eastlake records two victories

Eastlake earned a pair of tennis victories Thursday afternoon beating Garfield 5-2 and Interlake 5-2.

Kelly Song earned two wins on the afternoon in singles beating Garfield’s Melanie Troung, 6-0, 6-1 and Interlake’s Amy Yasutake, 7-5, 6-1.

The doubles teams of Sara Marien and Tasnim Khessib, and Lanie Graettinger and Courtney Tusler also earned two victories on the afternoon.

SOFTBALL

Eastlake stays atop Crest

Eastlake defeated Newport 3-1 Thursday afternoon for its second straight league victory.

The Wolves scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Nicole Guptil earned the victory going a complete seven innings, allowing five hits, along with four strikeouts, four walks and one earned run.

Eastlake is now alone atop the KingCo Crest with a 3-1 league and a 6-2 overall record.

Eastside Catholic blanked by O’Dea

Eastside Catholic’s scoring woes continued Tuesday afternoon as the Crusaders fell 3-0 to O’Dea.

It was the seventh time Eastside Catholic, which only has two goals on the season, has suffered a shutout defeat in 2010.

Jack Ryan had two goals for the Irish, including one on a penalty kick and another on an unassisted score in the 74th minute.

Eastside Catholic dropped to 1-3 in league and 2-7 overall with the loss.
