Walk-off walk helps Issaquah past Skyline in extras | Prep sports roundup

Issaquah loaded the bases on walks before a fourth base-on-balls gave the Eagles the extra inning win.

The Spartans jumped had a 3-0 lead at one point and took a two run advantage into the bottom of the seventh before a single from Blake Miller followed by a throwing error and a Brandon Mahovlich two-out, two-run double sent things to extra innings.

Ryan Guiberson finished off six straight hitters in the final two frames for the Eagles and four straight walks, two intentional, gave Issaquah the walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth.

Pat Harrod, Jim Sinatro and Clay Huber had RBI for the Spartans in the loss while

Nick Kassuba went six and two-thirds innings on the mound and allowed only one earned run.

Guiberson got the win for the Eagles, working the final five innings without allowing a run. Ethan Kalin allowed only one hit in his four innings with five strikeouts.

Boys lacrosse

Colin MacIlvennie, Will Bassetti, Drew Beggs and Ross Komenda all scored three goals for the Crusaders in the win over SLC. EC will meet unbeaten Bellevue next week.

Jason Twaddle netted the only score of the contest on a rebound from a free kick off the foot of Pedro Miola in the 45th minute as the Spartans topped Issaquah 1-0.

Zach Anselmi and Ben Morgan combined on the shutout in goal for Skyline.
