Motel 6 guest claims Donald Trump stole the presidency from him | Issaquah Police Blotter Jan. 21-26

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 21

IS CRUELLA STEALING DOGS AGAIN: There was a canine complaint at 3:13 p.m. from a resident of the 5500 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway. A woman gave her co-worker a puppy, expecting to be paid for the pooch. Before the payment was given, however, someone stole the dog from its new owners. The woman was never paid.

CASH-ONLY SOCIETY: A subject was upset at 11:08 p.m. that the Hilton in the 1800 block of NW Gilman Blvd. would not give him a room without a credit card, although he had enough cash to pay for the room. The Holiday Inn had also turned him down. The subject occasonally talked gibberish, but police observed that he was functional. He went off to Motel 6 to try to get a room there with cash.

Jan. 22

BEST FRIEND IS A JAILBIRD: A resident of the 100 block of Front St. N. called police at 2:26 a.m. because he was looking for his friend. He wanted to see if his friend was in the Issaquah Jail. Police informed the caller that his friend was not currently incarcerated.

MOTEL 6 SAGA, PART I: A complainant reported at 10:54 p.m. that he had been in an argument with a person he believed to be homeless, who had stayed at the Motel 6 in the 1800 block of 15th Place NW the previous night. The caller offered the man a ride to the park and ride or to the men’s shelter in North Bend, but the man refused.

Jan. 23

MOTEL 6 SAGA, PART II: Police contacted the troublesome Motel 6 guest at 8:11 a.m. The man told police that Donald Trump stole the presidency from him, and he has been leaving messages at the White House asking Mr. Trump why he stole it.

Jan. 24

CONVERSATION ON CARDBOARD: A suspicious subject was reported at a business in the 1400 block of NW Gilman Blvd. Police contacted the subject, who was checking his cell phone while seated on a cardboard box behind the business. Police asked him to move along.

Jan. 25

PROBLEMS OF THE LOUD-VOICED: Police responded to what had been reported as a verbal domestic altercation in the 5000 block of NW Village Park Drive at 11:52 a.m. Police spoke with both people involved, who explained that they are Chinese and they talk loudly. Police advised that they talk quieter to prevent future calls from nearby neighbors.

Jan. 26

MAD ABOUT THE PRICE OF LIGHT BULBS: Police were dispatched to the Home Depot in the 6200 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE at 8:09 p.m., where a man was screaming in the parking lot. The screamer was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with jeans and appeared to be high.
