Issaquah High School students enjoyed a commencement at Safeco Field June 10.
While spectators hardly filled the baseball arena, excitement filled the stadium.
Reporter Celeste Gracey spent the day at the stadium, taking photos and notes at all three of the Issaquah School District’s commencements. These are her top picks for Issaquah High School’s ceremony.
She also has a story on the days events.

Issaquah High School students were doing the wave and various cheers in a long hallway before the graduation commencement June 10. These students showed their excitement a few minutes before walking onto the field.

Many students were excited about their opportunity to be on the stadium’s jumbo tron for the first time. Above, graduate Daniel Toborg can be seen laughing.

Math teacher Jonathan Ko’s faculty speech was sharply comedic, including memories from his own time at Issaquah High School, while at the same time challenging.

Teachers stared with surprise at this barefoot graduate, but didn’t give him a hard time for not wearing shoes. Afterall, it wasn’t a requirement for graduation.

Graduate Risa Fukuda wasn’t without love after the Issaquah High School graduation commencement. Afterward, she went from friend to friend, passing out her extra flower leis.
