The graduating class of 2012 was marked Monday by their kindness and dedication to volunteerism.
It’s been one of those classes that teachers have deeply enjoyed through the years, said Superintendent Steve Rasmussen. “They’re a caring group.”
In addition to several fundraisers and food drives, Skyline students help organize Relay for Life and they help raise awareness for cancer by participating in the now annual Plateau Pink Day – which includes all of the Plateau high schools.
The ceremony came with the typical pomp and circumstance, humor and even a little bit of singing from one speaker
“Aspire is an admirable word,” teacher Connie Heldt told the students. “I want you to aspire to be true to yourselves.”
About 500 students participated in the commencement ceremonies at Safeco Field.
