• Far too big — over three times the largest size bond ever issued by the city.

• Far too long — five years longer than the longest bond ever issued by the city.

• Far too costly — five added years costs taxpayers millions in added interest.

• Doesn’t solve No. 1 priority identified in 2015 phone survey, traffic congestion.

• Impacts seniors and others on fixed incomes who can’t afford this increase.

• Raises city property taxes (mine by 27 percent), on top of rapidly increasing assessed values.

• Impacts renters — Landlords will raise monthly rents by $30-50 per month.

• Lack of trust — Do you really want to OK $50 million all at one time?

• Deceit — The city’s been misleading you all along, listing congestion relief as first thing bond will do. It’s even in their bond statement!

• Perpetuates the growth path council has us on, another high priority from the phone survey.

The council’s so worried they even passed a resolution supporting their own bond, something they’ve never done before. Now they want you to vote for their desperately needed oversized costly bond. Why didn’t they first ask how big a bond we’d be willing to vote for instead of going full speed ahead “tax to the max”? Vote no.
