The Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus was a the center of the Eastside art world on Wednesday night, as young artists, parents and friends came to check out the magnificent works of this year’s Reflections art contest.

For the last few months, students have been painting, drawing, dancing and snapping away – making works of art for Reflections.

A few lucky students were chosen by their schools to have their works hung in the district finals – these were the works on display on Wednesday night.

All the works this year were tied together by the theme “Beauty is…,” encouraging the artists to explore where they believe beauty lies in our world and our society.

The purpose of the Reflections program is to encourage students to create original works of art across a wide range of mediums, from works of fiction, short stories, and music composition, to photography, painting, computer-generated artwork, and even dance choreography.

The program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.

Congratulations to all those who took part.
