Village Theatre this week launched its theatrical production of the enormously popular film, “The Full Monty.” The feel-good musical comedy officially opened Thursday, following a special preview performance the night before, and will play a packed season at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre at 303 Front Street North until Oct. 24, when the show will pack up and head to Everett.

Esteemed, New-York based director/choreographer Jerry Dixon has returned from the success of his 2009 production Show Boat to create his own original staging of this pop-rock musical best known for its hysterical score and heartfelt dialogue.
