Beginning the week of Jan. 18, workers on the City of Sammamish’s 244th Avenue NE/E. Main Street roundabout construction project will provide 4-way traffic control of the intersection as crews work on utility trenching and installation.

The contractor will endeavor to accommodate motorists. Delays of five minutes are expected.

Priority will be given to buses, and the flagging crew will direct pedestrians and students who must cross the intersection.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid the intersection of 244th Avenue NE and E Main Street during construction hours, where possible.

This project includes the construction of an 800-foot roadway connection between existing segments of 244th Avenue. The project, which will also improve the existing segments of 244th Avenue, will stretch from SE Eighth Street to NE Eighth Street.

The new, 800-foot roadway will be built just west of Allen Lake.
