The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
July 3
GETTING SLOSHED: A person living in the 200 block of NW Dogwood St. called at 2:36 a.m. to report that a drunk girl had urinated on his stairs. She was gone at the time of the phone call.
SOMEBODY’S WATCHING ME: At 6:39 p.m., a female at the Safeway in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd. wanted police to call her because someone had stared at her while she was in Safeway. When police called, the woman said that she did not need any help.
July 4
TWITCHY FEET: At 1:49 a.m., police contacted a subject outside the Value Village in the 5500 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. The subject was twitching and was not wearing any shoes.
July 5
THEFT: Two bicycles worth a total of $1,200 were reported stolen at 1:10 p.m. from the 200 block of Mountain Park Blvd. SW.
July 6
FISH NAP: At 6:09 a.m., police found two subjects sleeping at the fish hatchery in the 100 block of Second Ave. NE. Police asked the subjects to leave and they obeyed.
SEAT BELT SCANDAL: A complainant came into the office at 4:01 p.m. to say that she felt her husband may have been “targeted” when he received a seat belt ticket. She admitted that he had not been wearing a seat belt, as is required by law.
July 7
BULLIES ARE CRIMINALS: At 2:19 p.m., a little girl in the 100 block of Newport Way NW called 911 to report bullying by neighbor kids. Police went to the girl’s house, where her mother, who had not had any knowledge of the call, apologized. Police explained to the girl how and when to call 911.
July 8
BAD KIDS: A woman called at 10:40 a.m. to report that some juveniles had just egged and attempted to TP her house, located in the 1700 block of 15th Ave. NE.
FALSE ALARM: Police found a vehicle at 10:58 p.m. in the 500 block of Eighth Ave. NW with its alarm lights flashing, but no audible alarm going off. Police stayed in the area to observe for a few minutes, but the alarm did not reactivate. Police spoke to a resident who had an after hours number and tried to find and notify the owner.
July 9
GO HOME, YOU’RE DRUNK: At 2:14 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 1300 block of NE Hickory Lane, where a female had reported an unwanted party. She said that her boyfriend had been drinking and she wanted him to leave. Police talked to both parties and found that there had been no physical altercation or damage to property.
CRAMMING: Police contacted a subject at 10:39 a.m. in the 800 block of Third Ave. NW. The subject said that he was learning to drive and had his drive test in 30 minutes.
CHEATER: At 7:18 p.m., police located a Jeep in the 1500 block of Highlands Drive NE that was parked in a handicapped parking space without a placard. Police ran the plate, and found nothing to indicate that the driver was handicapped. The vehicle was cited.
July 10
ROAD RAGE: At 7:52 a.m., two drivers got into a road rage incident on Interstate 90, then exited into Issaquah at Northwest Gilman Boulevard and 17th Avenue Northwest. Each called to report the other’s actions, and neither stayed to await officer contact.
POLITICAL PETTINESS: A male flagged down a police officer at 8:02 p.m. in front of the police station in the 100 block of E. Sunset Way. The man said that he had put one of his own campaign signs out among other signs in the 800 block of Front St. S. When he drove back later, all of the signs had been removed.
