PHANTOMS: Four units responded to the 300 block of Southwest Mt. Baker Drive at 11:14 a.m. regarding a report of gunfire in the area. The officers checked the area, finding nothing, and met with the reporting party.
THEFT: A pocketbook and cellphone were reported stolen from a location on the 100 block of Northeast Creek Way, at a total loss of $1,150.
DOING IT FOR THE FANS: A member of a band playing a local casino called to report a man attending their concert as suspicious. The man was a Colorado resident who had flown in to watch the show by himself. The man was cooperative with police and denied harassing any band members.
Jan. 3
TIPPED OUT: At 3:36 a.m., a local restaurant reported $40 to $80 of tip money stolen.
HAMPERED ESCAPE: At 8:37 a.m., a 44-year-old Seattle man was arrested along the 4600 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast for driving under the influence and the hit and run of an unattended vehicle.
BUSTED: An officer responded to a hit and run near the 900 block of Northeast Park Drive with a description of the suspect vehicle. The car was gone, but deputies from Sammamish PD were able to make contact with the registered owner, who said her 17-year-old son had the vehicle. Insurance information was able to be exchanged.
Jan. 4
SUSPENDED AND WANTED: A 25-year-old Renton woman was arrested near Northwest Mall Street for driving while license suspended and for an outstanding warrant.
MEDS: Medication was reported stolen from a location off the 3600 block of 228th Avenue Southeast, at a total loss of $70.
IF YOU HAVE TO ASK: An officer assisted a citizen who came into the police station with questions about the age of consent.
Jan. 5
TRAFFIC HAZARDS: Officers responded to several traffic hazards caused by high winds, including a small tree that had fallen into Southeast Issaquah-Fall City Road and a downed power line on Mountain Park Boulevard Southwest.
DRUNK ON CIVIC PRIDE: An officer was dispatched upstairs from the police department, where an intoxicated person was sitting in a chair in the waiting area outside the Issaquah City Hall offices. The officer took the person downstairs and they left to catch a bus.
MISSING: A woman contacted police from a location on the 300 block of Northwest Dogwood Street to let them know she is in town until her missing daughter is located. She provided phone numbers of possible contact for her daughter. These were forwarded to Detective Laura Asbell, who is handling the case.
Jan. 6
WHITE FLAG: A 56-year-old Seattle man turned himself into the Issaquah Jail for an outstanding theft warrant from Mercer Island.
NATURE: A caller reported two men cutting trees and plants on the 200 block of Newport Way Southwest, next to the bridge. An officer contacted the men, who said they were “saving nature” and had helped a city employee on the trail previously. The two were advised to obtain a permit or accompany city workers if they continue.
Jan. 7
BAR FLY: At 12:30 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a disturbance at a bar on the 100 block of Front Street North, where a man was reported glaring, threatening people and kicking the back door. The suspect had left by the time the officer arrived, but the bartender gave a statement, advising the man had “creeped (her) out” and wouldn’t leave.
TRESPASS: At 1:02 a.m., a 28-year-old Snoqualmie man was removed from a location where he was unwanted. He was subsequently arrested for first degree trespassing a business on the 100 block of Front Street North.
GTA: A vehicle theft was reported while in progress near the 21900 block of Southeast 51st Street. The thief left the area with a white 1999 Ford van valued at $5,000.
Jan. 8
HUMOR, UNAPPRECIATED: An officer responded to a medical office on the 5700 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast, where a patient had been reported by staff for making disturbing comments. The woman, who was intoxicated, told the officer her comments were just dark humor. She was cleared and allowed to leave.
CRIME OF FASHION: Nearly $900 in makeup and fragrances were reported stolen from a business on the 1400 block of Highlands Drive Northeast.
FEUD: An officer responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 200 block of Northwest Dogwood Street, in which a resident alleged a neighbor was activating his smoke detector for the express purpose of creating noise.
