Spring arrived on Sunday and people celebrated the turn of the season by observing Holi at festivals throughout the Eastside.

Holi is the Hindu festival of colors recognizing the beginning of spring. Part of Holi, and probably the most recognizable part of the festival in the West, is the throwing of colorful holi powder.

The two days of Holi officially begin Thursday, March 24, but celebrations were held Saturday, March 19, at Crossroads park in Bellevue (see slideshow above) and Lake Sammamish State Park.
