Comment sought on WSDOT project near Issaquah Creek

The City of Issaquah Planning Department is seeking public comment on a request by the Washington State Dept of Transportation to widen the East Sunset Way connection by Interstate 90 to accommodate turn lanes, 4-foot wide shoulders, curb and sidewalk and guard rails.

The City of Issaquah Planning Department is seeking public comment on a request by the Washington State Dept of Transportation to widen the East Sunset Way connection by Interstate 90 to accommodate turn lanes, 4-foot wide shoulders, curb and sidewalk and guard rails.

Also included in the application is a fill slope, paving, drainage, updating signing and illumination, delineation and other work.

The construction is in the vicinity of East Fork Issaquah Creek, meaning the city must decide whether it will grant a Substantial Shorelines Development Permit.

The project is located at the East Sunset Way Interchange to I-90 in the vicinity of East Fork Issaquah Creek, on the south side of creek.

The public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the Baxter Room of Issaquah City Hall Northwest, 1775 12th Avenue NW.
