County to offer candidate workshops

The program will cover filing for office, submitting information for the voter's pamphlet, voter lists and data management, campaign sign regulations and basic public disclosure information.

King County will hold two candidate workshops this month. The program will cover filing for office, submitting information for the voter’s pamphlet, voter lists and data management, campaign sign regulations and basic public disclosure information.

Classes will be from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 25, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27, at King County Elections, 919 SW Grady Way, Renton.

Those planning to attend must RSVP via email at election.operations@kingcounty.gov. Filing for office will be from May 13-17.

In Issaquah, the mayor and four city council positions will be on the ballot. All positions are for four-year terms. Issaquah Mayor Ava Frisinger is not seeking re-election. Council positions on the ballot include Position 1, held by Joe Forkner, Position 3, held by Eileen Barber, Position 5, held by Stacy Goodman and Position 7, held by Tola Marts.

Two Issaquah School District positions will be on the ballot, including spots held by Allison Meryweather and Marnie Maraldo.

In Sammamish, four city council positions will be on the ballot. Those positions include Position 1, held by John James, Position 3 held by John Curley, Position 5, held by Don Gerend and Position 7, held by Mayor Tom Odell. Doug Eglington, who represents Sammamish on the Lake Washington School Board, will also see his term end.
