April 17

THEFT: A multitool and iPod Nano were reported stolen from a Subaru Outback parked on the 4500 block of 191st Avenue Southeast, at a total loss of $100.

SUSPICIOUS: A caller reported they had observed a white male in a black puffy vest and black hat walking by cars on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard and stopping at those with their windows down.

RIGHTS EXERCISED: An officer was dispatched to investigate suspicious circumstances near the skate park on the 300 block of Rainier Boulevard South. The officer approached a male sitting near the park. He said he had contacted two friends in a convertible and shook their hands, but did not exchange any money or drugs. The officer asked to search the male’s bag and he declined.

CPR: Fire personnel called in police assistance to the 400 block of Kalmia Place Northwest, where a person needed to be lifted out of a hot tub to be resuscitated. Fire personnel administered CPR and the person was responsive.

April 18

HAIR OF THE DOG: Police arrested a 58-year-old Bellevue man for suspicion of drunken driving at the intersection of Interstate 90 and 17th Avenue Northwest. Blood alcohol content testing came back with a 0.213 reading, more than twice the legal limit.

SOLICITORS: An officer met with Target employees and solicitors seeking signatures outside the store on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard to advise each party of their rights. A solicitor was called into question for allegedly making wisecracks and inciting arguments. The solicitor moved on to another location.

BURGLARY: Champagne, a wine holder and crystal bells were reported stolen from a location on the 5100 block of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road Southeast that had been burglarized.

April 19

BURGLARY: Jewelry, a pocketbook and cash were reported stolen in a residential burglary at a location on the 4500 block of 187th Place Southeast, at a total loss of $2,617.

HELPING HAND: An officer on patrol spotted a female cyclist with a flat tire on the side of the road near West Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast and 188th Avenue Southeast. The officer gave her a ride to Gerk’s Issaquah Cycle on Northwest Poplar Way.

DUDE, WHERE’S MY CAR?: An officer followed up with a resident about a stolen vehicle that had been recovered. The man didn’t know his car was missing, but had been notified that it was impounded in Renton.

April 20

POW: An officer contacted a driver who had been in a non-injury accident. She stated she had been driving southbound on State Route 900 south of Newport Way when she felt her car lift as if she had struck something, though she did not see anything. Her airbags deployed and she pulled over to summon a tow.

H&R MOCK: An officer contacted a woman reporting a person filing taxes fraudulently in her name. She said these were her federal taxes, but that she did not have details of the fraudulent filing.

April 21

LOCKOUT: An officer responded to a call about a man attempting to gain entry into a car at the 300 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. It turned out the man was the owner of the car and he had locked his keys in the vehicle. The officer helped him regain entry.

DARN THIRD GUY: While driving west on Newport Way near Maple, an officer saw two vehicles that had just been in an accident. The driver of the vehicle in the rear said a third vehicle had cut off the car in front of him, causing the collision.

April 22

BUREAUTEK–A THRILLING ADVENTURE IN DOWNTIME: An officer responded to a vehicle on Southeast Evans Street parked illegally in front of orange cones and within five feet of a corner. However, it couldn’t be ticketed because the DOL system was down. A photograph of the vehicle was coupled with a case number.

PACKAGE: A package was reported stolen from an address on the 900 block of Northeast Ingram Street.

SHOPLIFTING: A $600 vacuum was reported stolen from a store on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.

April 23

POWER MEETS CLASS: An officer came across a minor two-car collision blocking 12th and Gilman. A red Pontiac had run into a Lexus. The driver of the Pontiac told the officer he had attempted to stop his car but the wet pavement prevented him from doing so in time. The officer stood by as they exchanged info.

DISCONTAINMENT: A pocketbook and wallet were reported stolen at the 1800 block of 10th Avenue Northwest, at a total loss of $200.

April 24

HOWL AT THE MOON: Shortly after midnight, an officer was dispatched to a noise complaint about a barking dog at an address on the 100 block of West Sunset Way. The officer observed a dog on the roof of the location. Knowing there were apartments in the back, the officer attempted to find the owner with no success. The officer left a note for the day shift to attempt to contact the apartment’s management to determine the dog’s owner.
