Eastlake High School choir in Sammamish participates, receives award at Worldstrides festival

Nearly 30 choir students from Eastlake High School traveled to San Diego and performed at the Worldstrides Heritage Festival in early April.

Nearly 30 choir students from Eastlake High School traveled to San Diego and performed at the Worldstrides Heritage Festival in early April.

The high school choir took the second place Gold Award for their performance and the Spirit of San Diego Award for the team’s “integrity and positive attitude in working together,” according to Andrey Spichak, Eastlake music teacher.

The students were also invited to participate in the 2017 Worldstrides National Youth Choral Festival in Carnegie Hall.

This was the choir’s first time participating in the Heritage Festivals Choral Competition, competing against other schools from around the U.S.
