The community gathered to celebrate the completion of a new firehouse in Issaquah Monday.
It earned LEED Platinum certification, making it one of the most environmentally sustainable stations in the nation.
Fire Station 72 in Issaquah was christened Oct. 3. The building, topped with solar panels, met LEED Platinum certification, making it the greenest fire station in the country.

The new kitchen at Fire Station 72 comes complete with a induction oven, and stainless steel countertops that are welded together, minimizing cleaning work.
Several decorative touches cling to firefighter traditions, including these old fire hoses dyed various colors and hung from the ceiling in one of the stairways at the new Issaquah Firehouse.
