There will be disruptions to traffic along the East Lake Sammamish Parkway this week, as contractors begin work on Phase 1B of the City of Sammamish’s controversial improvement project.

The work will begin where the contractor left off last year just north of NE 18th Place and will continue north to approximately the 2200 block.

The major work associated with this phase of construction includes widening of the existing bridge just north of NE 18th Place, adding sidewalk to the east side of the roadway, bike lanes on both sides, installation of medians and center turn lanes.

The planned work for the week of April 12 consists of:

· Contractor mobilizing their crews and equipment

· Survey work

· Establishment of temporary erosion and sediment control

Clearing and grading will begin by mid week.

There will be some traffic shifts to provide work space for the contractor, including single lane closures beginning on Tuesday, April 13.

Single lane closures are scheduled Monday thru Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m..
