Residents can expect more — more food vendors, more entertainment and more gardening advice — at this year’s Sammamish Farmers Market, Sammamish Chamber Executive Deb Sogge said.
The market runs Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m., as it better matches with residents’ schedules, Sogge said.
Food trucks will rotate out each week, allowing variety for market goers. The market is also keeping it fresh with four new vendors, she said.
There will also be more community entertainment, like a Bollywood performance July 6 at 6 p.m. The market features two new farmers as well.
Master Gardeners this year will be around every week.
“We’re a resource for the people and their gardens,” said Gary Scheider of the North Bend Master Gardeners.
The Issaquah Food Bank will also be on site collecting fresh veggies and other food donations from market goers. They’ll be there every week, too.
With the opening of the Sammamish Community and Aquatic Center/YMCA, Sogge expects more shoppers than ever before.
There was a formal grand opening May 11 at 3:50 p.m.
The market will run every Wednesday at the Sammamish Commons Plaza located at 801 228th Ave. SE through Sept. 21.
Volunteers are always needed. Shifts run from 2-4 p.m. and 7:45-9 p.m.
Volunteers help set up and take down tents, tables and chairs. Volunteer credit is available for students looking to fulfill community service requirements.
