Free helmets for children in need at Issaquah Bike Safety Fair

To instill the importance of bike safety and rules of the road in children of elementary school age, free helmets will be made available to children in need.

The Optimist Club of Issaquah and the Eastside will host their annual Bike Safety Fair this Saturday, June 12, from noon to 3 p.m. at Issaquah Valley Elementary School.

Mechanics will also provide bike tuneups for young cyclists.

Bellevue and Issaquah police will provide helmet fittings.

Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for school-age children. During school holidays, healthy snacks for children are in high demand at local food banks.

In Bellevue on Sunday, June 13, a bike safety fair will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at Newport Heights Elementary School, 5225 119th Ave. S.E.
