Idylwood homeowners report torn down, stolen Christmas decorations | Issaquah Police Blotter Dec. 2-16

Dec. 2

BURGLARY: A building on the 300 block of 1st Avenue Northwest was the site of a reporter burglary. A window was damaged at a total loss of $50.

HARASSMENT: A man calling from Southeast Clark Street reported ongoing problems with his neighbor, including numerous unwanted emails and letters about disputes regarding property lines, tree placement and children.

Dec. 3

DUMPSTER DIVE: An employee of Ulta in the Issaquah Highlands reported persons going through the dumpster and taking trash. By the time an officer arrived, the subjects had left in their vehicle.

Dec. 5

BAD DELIVERY: A mailbox on the 5000 block of Northwest Village Park Drive was reported damaged, incurring a total loss of $500.

GTA, UNSUCCESSFUL: Police responded a reported unsuccessful auto theft. The attempt damaged the ignition switch and wiring harness of a Kawasaki ZX600J.

HARASSMENT: A complainant reported harassment on Newport Way Northwest. She advised police she had been walking toward the Valley Elementary School on what she believed was a public trail. A female confronted the complainant, telling her she was trespassing in what the complainant described as an aggressive and threatening manner.

BATH, BED AND BEYOND: A Rainier Boulevard North business reported a woman who was refusing to leave the restroom. An officer contacted the woman on the sidewalk outside the address; she said she had been given permission to use the restroom and she fell asleep.

Dec. 6

INTOXICATED: At 3:48 a.m. officers trespassed an intoxicated man who had been knocking on the back door of a residence off the 400 block of Northeast Alder Street and refused to leave.

DVD MIA: An unknown number of DVDs were reported stolen from a location off the 1400 block of Highlands Drive Northeast.

OH NO, YOUTHS: A caller reported seeing several juveniles walking around private property off the 200 block of Northwest Dogwood Street. She said she contacted them and they said they were looking for an outlet to charge their phone. She told them to leave.

Dec. 7

DUI: A 26-year-old Lakewood man was arrested for driving under the influence in the vicinity of Southeast Issaquah-Fall City Road and East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast.

UNTER: An officer was dispatched to a 911 hangup near Northeast Dogwood Street. The officer contacted an Uber driver who reported he was shorted on a fare from Seattle to Issaquah.

SHINE ON: A flashlight and loose change were reported stolen from a Jetta parked on the 500 block of Mt Olympus Drive Southwest.

Dec. 8

YUKON GONE: A GMC Yukon was reported stolen from the 2100 block of Shy Bear Way Northwest at a total loss of $10,000. The theft was reported in-progress.

ALARM: A 27-year-old North Bend man was arrested for criminal trespass of a property off the 1800 block of Northwest Mall Street.

Dec. 9

GAS: $300 of fuel was reported stolen from an address off the 100 block of West Sunset Way.

UNDER AGE: A juvenile was arrested near the 700 block of 2nd Avenue Southeast for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The case was forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor’s office.

FOOTLOOSE: Police responded to the 18000 block of Southeast Newport Way, where a complaint had reported a man acting strangely. Police contacted the man, who was fine and had just been dancing in the middle of a jog.

THE DE-PARTED: Catalytic converters were reported stolen in two incidents. First, from a vehicle parked near the 1600 block of Newport Way Northwest, at a total loss of $320. Then again from a car parked near the 1000 block of 17th Avenue Northwest at a total loss of $1,000.

Dec. 10

WARRANT: A 20-year-old Sammamish man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the Issaquah Police Department on East Sunset Way.

SQUATTING: The owner of an empty home off the 300 block of Mine Hill Road Southwest contacted police about squatters on her property. An officer noted in his report that there have been numerous arrests for trespassing at the house in the past. The homeowner said people were continuing to camp out in her house; she requested police check on the property and arrest anyone inside.

KILLER TV: An officer responded to a reported disturbance at a home off the 200 block of Mountain Park Boulevard Southwest. The occupants said there was no problem — they were just watching “Dexter” and drinking wine.

Dec. 11

GROUP BATH: An officer helped three drivers exchange insurance information after their vehicles became entangled inside the Brown Bear car wash on Southeast 56th Street.

PINCHED: A wallet was reported stolen from a location near the 1800 block of 10th Avenue Northwest, at a total loss of $20.

Dec. 12

BUTTS: A resident of the 800 block of 5th Avenue Northwest requested extra patrols around her residence because of cigarette butts found on the sidewalk.

SHOPLIFTING: A 44-year-old Issaquah man and 41-year-old Sammamish woman were arrested for shoplifting from a business off the 1800 block of 10th Avenue Northwest.

CONTRABAND: A 27-year-old Redmond man was arrested for providing contraband to an Issaquah Jail inmate.

SOTALLY TOBER: An officer responded to two highly intoxicated men at the parking garage on the 1000 block of Northeast Park Drive, after callers had reported them as a disturbance. They were provided a courtesy ride home.

Dec. 13

SUSPENDED: A 41-year-old Shoreline man was arrested for at the intersection of Interstate highway 90 and Front Street North for driving while license suspended.

OUCH: An officer contacted two females who work at a coffee house off the 300 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. They described a white man who comes into the business every day, makes odd comments and has occasionally asked them out. They said he just seems off.

Dec. 14

BIG ADVENTURE: A bicycle was reported stolen from the 200 block of Northwest Dogwood Street at a total loss of $400.

AY CARUMBA: A girl called 911 because she was made to write 350 times that she would not disrespect her mother.

Dec. 15

SCOOPLESS: An officer contacted a man at his home off the 200 block of Northeast Creek Way. He was upset his new neighbor’s dog goes to the bathroom on his section of the property and near his front door.

BRACE YOURSELF: A bracelet was reported stolen from a location off the 5000 block of Northwest Village Park Drive, at a loss of $2,500.

Dec. 16

VEHICLE PROWL: Paperwork, iPod paraphernalia and a yoga mat were stolen from a car parked off the 300 block of Southeast Crystal Creek Circle, at a total loss of $40.

GRINCH: A resident of the 900 block of Idylwood Drive Southwest reported that an unknown person had torn down Christmas lights next door. The homeowner called in to report a decorative reindeer had been stolen from their lawn.

DON’T DRIVE: A man and woman were found intoxicated at the Shell gas station on East Sunset Way. Their vehicle was left unattended, with the ignition on, motor running and doors wide open. They were planning to travel to Seattle, but agreed to find another means of transport or a sober driver.
