Indapure to run for Sammamish City Council Position 5

Rituja Indapure, a public school parent, tech industry professional and local volunteer, officially announced her bid for Sammamish City Council on Wednesday.

Indapure, 44, filed for candidacy with the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission on March 31. She said if she were elected to City Council, one of her goals would be to “take the needs of our entire community into account.”

“I’m excited to serve our community by bringing a common-sense, data-driven approach and a voice that represents a changing Sammamish,” Indapure stated in a press release. “It’s the right time for the Sammamish City Council to reflect that change.”

Indapure lives in Sammamish with her husband, Dinesh, and their two children. She is a tech industry professional with a master’s in law from the University of Nottingham. In addition to her professional work, Indapure is a United Way volunteer, a former Parent Teacher Association board member and serves on the board of the online publication, The Seattle Globalist.

“My husband and I moved to Sammamish 15 years ago for the same reasons many in our community have – the beautiful parks and green spaces, great schools and safe neighborhoods,” Indapure said. “As Sammamish grows, I believe it is our responsibility to work together to find innovative solutions to our biggest challenges. We need to work with our regional partners to find cost-effective transportation solutions that work for residents of all ages, support smart growth while balancing the needs of our environment, protect our parks and green spaces, and support reliable police, fire and support services for everyone.”
