The city of Issaquah’s Development Services Director has taken a job as city manager of Sequim, Wash., in Clallum County.
Mayor Fred Butler informally announced Charlie Bush’s departure immediately before Bush introduced a staffing request for his department at Monday night’s regular city council meeting.
Bush has worked for the city of Issaquah since May 2012, when he was hired as deputy city administrator. He became development services director in April 2014.
Bush has a long career in public service. He began work as a management intern for the city of Glendale, Arizona in 1998 and continued working for the city in various positions until 2002, when he was hired by the city of Bellevue as an intergovernmental management analyst. He left Bellevue in 2008 to become the city administrator of the Eastern Washington city of Prosser for the following four years.
