Issaquah History Museums seek input on community center exhibit

The Issaquah History Museums are seeking community input for a new exhibit at the Issaquah Community Center.

For the past 18 months, two small exhibit cases at the community center have housed artifacts and images that relate to recreation in Issaquah. It’s time to change the exhibit and museum staff would like the public’s help by telling them them what they would see on display?

Exhibit ideas should be sent to the Issaquah History Museums via email (info@issaquahhistory.org ) or snail mail (P.O. Box 695, Issaquah, WA 98027).

People should tell the museum who they are, what they want to see on exhibit, and why they think the idea is important. If the idea is used, the person suggesting it will receive a free membership and a gift certificate to use in the museum’s gift shop.

On average, museums display only about 10 percent of the items in their collection at any given time. The Issaquah History Museums’ exhibit space is extremely limited, and it doesn’t have space to host a changing exhibit.

The Issaquah History Museums also welcome volunteers who would like to help put the exhibit together. For more information on the museums, this exhibit, or volunteering, contact the Issaquah History Museums main office at 425/392-3500 or info@issaquahhistory.org.
