Issaquah hit-and-run leaves 21-year-old dead

An investigation is underway into a hit-and-run collision that took the life of a 21-year-old man early Sunday morning in Issaquah.

At about 1:12 a.m., the man was leaving a house party on foot in the 23100 block of SE 53rd St. when he was struck and killed in the roadway.

The victim was identified as Kevin Lozoya, a 2014 graduate of Issaquah High School.

The vehicle that struck Lozoya was described as a lifted, full-sized, dark pickup truck with tinted windows.

The case is being investigated as a felony hit-and-run by the Washington State Patrol.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson said on Wednesday that in the case of hit-and-run incidents, “more often than not we’re able to figure it out” and catch the suspect.

“We’ve got great detectives and we’re working with Issaquah Police Department,” he said.

Johnson added that Q13 FOX was set to include the driver in its Washington’s Most Wanted list this week.

Anyone with information should contact the State Patrol at 425-401-7742.

“They need people’s help,” Johnson said. “Any information is going to help us.”
