Man appears to take photos of kids at elementary school, witness reports | Issaquah Police Blotter

Nov. 10

PARANOIA OR PERVERT: A citizen flagged down police at 11:20 a.m. in the 500 block of NW Holly St. to report that he had seen a man with a bicycle and a telescopic lens camera. The man had appeared to be taking pictures of students playing in the schoolyard at Issaquah Valley Elementary School.

Nov. 11

SHOULD HAVE SENT A TEXT: An anxious mother called police at 5:48 a.m. to report that her son, 17, had not come home from school the previous day. Police went to the mother’s residence in the 5400 block of 236th Place SE. The teen was located at a friend’s house.

FLIPPING RUDE: A report was received at 10:57 p.m. that two juveniles were causing trouble at the Costco property, located in the 1600 block of 11th Ave. NW. The juveniles would repeatedly try to walk onto the property, and when the security guards would try to contact the juveniles, they would flip off the guards and run off. Police were unable to locate the troublesome teens.

Nov. 13

WHAT WAS HE DOING IN THERE: There was a problem at 8 a.m. at a gas station in the 100 block of E. Sunset Way. Employees said that a man had been in the bathroom for a long time, and that when they confronted him about it, he gave them lip. Police gave the subject a verbal warning to leave the gas station.

CHEATING THE SYSTEM: A caller reported at 1:12 p.m. that two vehicles without handicapped permits were parked in handicapped parking stalls in front of a leasing office in the 22500 block of SE 56th St. Police arrived, and one of the vehicles moved. Police contacted the owner of the second vehicle, and advised him of the complaint.

Nov. 14

CYCLING SCAVENGER: A male was reported to be digging through a dumpster in the 1500 block of 11th Ave. NW at 4:53 p.m. The male left the location on a bicycle, and was no longer in the area when police arrived.

PARTY OVER: A caller reported at 5:56 p.m. that she observed suspicious activity on the north side of the Party City store in the 6000 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. A man and a woman were going through a backpack near a vehicle. When asked if the backpack was theirs, they fled. When police arrived, the subjects were gone, but the backpack was left behind. Nothing of value was found.

Nov. 15

MAD ABOUT GROCERY PRICES: At 10:02 a.m., a male with a grocery cart was reported to be yelling and screaming obscenities at pedestrians and traffic in the 5700 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. Police contacted the subject. He stated that he did not want to talk to officers, and he left the area.

Nov. 16

CURLED UP WITH A BEER BLANKET: A woman was walking her dog at 2:18 p.m. in the 10000 block of Issaquah-Hobart Rd. SE when she came upon a man lying on the ground near the trail. Police met up with the woman and were shown to the spot where the man was lying. Police contacted the subject, who was sleeping on wet grass. There were several empty beer cans nearby. The subject said that he lived across the street and that he was just taking a nap. He picked up his beer cans and departed.
