July 29

INFORMATION: At 10:23 a.m. at the Issaquah Police Station in the 100 block of E. Sunset Way, police allowed a journalist from the Issaquah-Sammamish Reporter to ride along in a police vehicle for three hours. The journalist did not commit any crimes during her time with law enforcement.

CRYING WOLF: A woman in the 300 block of Rainier Blvd. S. claimed that the same dog that she has complained to police about previously lunged at her. She said that she knew police couldn’t do anything and she will be following up with animal control; she simply wanted police to know.

July 30

CREEPS SEEKING CREPES: Two males were reported to have “stumbled in” to the IHOP in the 1400 block of NW Sammamish Road at 9:02 p.m. The men were reportedly speaking “aggressively.” Police did an area check but found nothing.

NOT A NIGHT TO HOP TO IHOP: At 9:36 p.m., police were again dispatched to a disturbance at the IHOP in the 1400 block of NW Sammamish Road. A drunk elderly man with a black jacket and a grey beard was yelling at patrons outside IHOP and at people pumping gas at the Arco next door.

Aug. 1

MCDONALD’S ALSO UNSAFE: At 1:27 a.m., diners at the McDonald’s in the 5500 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE reported seeing an older male wearing a dark jacket and carrying a yellow propane torch enter the fenced area of the BMC West lumber yard next to the restaurant.

HERE’S LOOKING AT YOU: A resident of the 1000 block of 10th Ave. NE reported at 4:35 p.m. that a male, described as clad in black with brown, messy hair, was either sleeping or looking into the window of the ground floor window stoop of the resident’s house. The resident could not determine for certain what the male was doing.

Aug. 2

TOTALLY WORTH A 911 CALL: At 11:25 a.m., a person at a business in the 1400 block of Gilman Blvd. reported that a customer came into the business through the rear delivery door demanding service. The reporting party reiterated that the delivery door was for deliveries only and not customers.

Aug. 3

OUT OF CONTROL: A person in a store in the 900 block of NE Park Drive stated that the lawnmower across the street was shooting rocks onto the road. She said the rocks had hit the window of the store, as well as the window of a vehicle on Ninth Avenue. Police observed that the store’s front window was indeed shattered.

NO MANNERS THESE DAYS: A person called at 11:11 p.m. to report that a 15-year-old female had spit on him in the 1400 block of Highlands Drive NE. The female was still at the location. After speaking with all parties as well as witnesses, police determined that the complainant and the female had been “playing around” with no malicious intent.

Aug. 4

LOCKED IN THE LOO: A person called at 9:35 p.m. to report that he had been inside a bathroom in the 600 block of Rainier Blvd. N. during daylight hours when the restroom was locked on him. He was able to escape the clutches of the can, but he said that his personal items were still inside.
