Aug. 22

FIRED UP: At 1:17 a.m in the 1400 block of Highlands Drive NE, police noticed a small fire in the beauty bark. Police used a fire extinguisher to put it out. Eastside Fire and Rescue arrived later to assist.

CAN’T LET GO: A man came to meet with police in the lobby of the Issaquah Police Department at 9:23 a.m. to make a complaint about his ex-girlfriend. The man said that despite the fact that his ex obtained a restraining order against him, she continues to call him and show up at his residence. Police counseled the man about the process of obtaining a restraining order from King County.

GETTING HIGH: Police received a report of possible drug use at 9:34 a.m. at the corner of Newport Way Southwest and Wildwood Boulevard Southwest. Upon arrival, police made contact with two subjects who are known to the Issaquah Police Department and asked them to leave.

NOT-SO-ARTFUL DODGER: A 16-year-old was caught stealing cookies, a drink and other snacks at 9:39 p.m. from the Safeway in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd. The juvenile was released to his mother. The stolen items were given back, and Safeway chose not to pursue charges.

Aug. 23

RITE AID CAMPOUT: At 4:19 a.m., police contacted two subjects sleeping next to the Rite Aid in the 1000 block of NW Gilman Blvd. They claimed that they missed the last bus out of town. Police warned the subjects against camping, but they were uncooperative with law enforcement.

NEED SOME SOCKS: Police responded at 9 a.m. to a tresspass in progress in the 1500 block of NW Gilman Blvd., where a subject was sleeping. The subject, who was clear of warrants, said that he was just passing through town. He said that he needed some socks, so police gave him a spare pair from the patrol car, along with food, water and a bus pass.

VAPING IS THE NEW SMOKING: It was reported at 10:24 a.m. that a male smoked something and fell asleep at the corner of Northeast Federal Drive and Ninth Avenue Northeast. Police spoke to the subject, who said that he had been up all night. He said that he was just vaping with an e-cigarette and showed police as proof.

THE ISSY 500: Police received a report at 10:53 a.m. of speeding on Newport Way. Police pulled over several vehicles for speeding in the 18500 block of SE Newport Way. Police did not see any dump trucks speeding, which the report had said.

Aug. 24

IMAGINARY PROBLEM: A complainant called requesting police help at 9:05 a.m. from the 4200 block of 185th Place SE. Police attempted to contact the resident, but no one was home. Police also spoke to several neighbors, none of whom had observed a disturbance. Furthermore, police noted that 185th Place does not even exist.

PEEP SHOW: At 11:37 a.m., police responded to a report of a male who exposed himself in the 800 block of Lake Drive. Police were unable to locate the subject.
