A number of students from Sammamish have been named  National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.

Skyline High School

Michael Cao, Melanie DeJonge, Emily Feng, Kelly Lin, Thomas Lin, Aishwarya Mandyam, Karishma Mandyam, Brian Shih, Ziyu Shao and Nikhil Shyamkumar.

Eastlake High School

Akanksha Bawa, Ashwathy Goutham, Gabriel See and Cheng Shan.

Eastside Catholic School

Tinuola Dada and Amali Fernando.

Semifinalists will compete with students from around the country for one of 2,500 National Merit Scholarships, which include a $2,500 award and the title of “National Merit Scholar.” Winners are expected to be announced beginning in April 2015.
