Skyline grad Megan Beimer is a finalist in Pillsbury Bake-Off

Megan Gilkey Beimer, a 2001 graduate of Skyline High School, is a finalist in the Pillsbury 47th Bake-Off Contest.

Megan Gilkey Beimer, a 2001 graduate of Skyline High School, is a finalist in the Pillsbury 47th Bake-Off Contest. Now living in Alexandria, Va., Beimer won in the Weekend Breakfast Wows category. Her recipe, Chocolate Doughnut Poppers, won based on taste, appearance, creativity and crowd appeal at the Nashville competition. Voting for the $1 million winner takes place until Dec. 2 on Facebook — www.pillsbury.com/vote.

Chocolate Doughnut Poppers are baked, not fried and have an ooey, gooey chocolate center with a nut dipped glaze. Beimer’s Bio can be viewed on the Pillsbury website along with a YouTube demonstrating how to make Chocolate Doughnut Poppers.

The four finalists will appear on ABC’s “The Chew” on Dec. 2 to show off their original recipes. The grand prize winner of the Pillsbury 47th Bake-Off will be announced live on The Chew Dec. 3.
