Police asking for help in string of Beaver Lake car prowls

Police are looking for information in a string of car prowls in Beaver Lake Monday night.

Police are looking for information in a string of car prowls in Beaver Lake Monday night.

In each of the seven reported cases, the suspect smashed one of the front windows and grabbed what was in reach, without opening the door.

“By opening the door you tend to set off car alarms,” said Sgt. Jessica Sullivan, of the King County’s Sheriff’s Office.

Suspects made off with navigators, mp3 players and one car had a fair amount of jewelry inside.

Each of the cars were related to a house, but were parked both on the street and in driveways.

All of the cars were broken into between 10 p.m.-7 a.m. the next morning. A neighbor heard her dog bark at about 3 a.m., but didn’t investigate.

It’s possible that there were more car prowls, but so far only seven have been reported, Sullivan said.

If anyone has more information, police are asking that they call their Sammamish office, 425-295-0700 or King County dispatch, 206-296-3311. The public can also file car prowl reports online.
