Police discover five transient campsites downtown | The Issaquah Blotter

The following information was compiled from City of Issaquah police reports:

Police uncovered five transient camps in the wooded area near Alpine Hospital on Sammamish Road. The camps consisted of various tarps, tents and other manmade shelters. The all appeared to have been occupied recently, but no one was there at the time April 13.

 

Someone dined and dashed at the Las Margaritas Restaurant, eating up $38 in food before leaving without paying April 13.

 

A mother called police seeking advice on what to do about her teenage daughter who was being ganged up on by her friends on Facebook April 13.

 

A woman called police after someone ordered 20 pizzas using her address and phone number. She was afraid the pizza place would call police to complain on the 4200 block of 190th Avenue Southeast April 16.

 

Police were called to the cemetery on the 100 block of Mt. Olympus, after someone found a large bone laying in front of the entrance. A neighbor advised police that it was from a large animal that birds had been picking at for a couple days April 8.

 

There was a report of a naked man walking around Lake Tradition. When he was reportedly contacted, he ran into the woods. Police were unable to find him April 8.

 

Someone set a fire in the men’s restrooms at Central Park April 9.

 

A car prowler made off with a GPS and CDs, worth $575, from the 2100 block of Shy Bear Way Northwest April 13.

 

Police opened the gate for a man who got locked in a cemetery at 8:22 p.m. on the 100 block of Mount Olympus Drive Southwest April 13.

 

Someone called police after hearing what sounded like their neighbor running into walls, but police advised her it wasn’t a police matter on the 200 block of Southwest Clark Street April 13.

 

A thief broke the window of a car, only to steal the owner’s manual on the 600 block of Front Street South April 13.

 

A young juvenile was arrested for theft on the 6100 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast April 14.

 

Someone broke the door handle off a car, causing $750 in damages, but didn’t take anything on the 6100 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast April 14.

 

A 23-year-old Puyallup man was arrested for having burglary tools, criminal trespassing and obstruction of justice. At the same time a 30-year-old Sumner man was arrested for having a fake ID, criminal trespassing and obstruction on the 1700 block of Northwest Mall Street April 18.

 

A man was arrested on two DUI court commitments, $10,000 bail each, at the Issaquah Municipal Courthouse April 8.

 

Someone called police after seeing two teens check out a vacant house on the 4700 block of 192nd Place Southeast April 9.

 

A neighbor called police after seeing three kids spray whipped cream in the roadway in front of their house and dump garbage from his or her can on the 23600 block of Southeast Summmerhill Lane, April 9.

 

Someone reported hearing voices in the woods from the 800 block of Northwest Sammamish Road. When police went to investigate they found a homeless camp, but no campers April 10.

 

A purse, worth $240, was stolen from the trunk of a car on the 18300 block of Southeast Newport Way April 11.

An 18-year-old from Issaquah was cited and released for possessing marijuana April 11.

 

A 1998 Honda, worth $2,300, was stolen from the 700 block of Front Street South April 11.

 

A 35-year-old Issaquah man was arrested for possession of marijuana on the 5600 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast April 19.

 

The King County Sheriff’s Office recovered a car that was stolen the day before from the Lowe’s parking lot April 18.

 

A 1988 Toyota was stolen, a $1,900 loss on the 1600 block of 11th Avenue Northwest April 17.

 

A $1,000 gold chain was reported stolen from the 400 block of Rainier Boulevard North April 18.
