Police identified the shooters in a Lake Sammamish State Park fight that left two dead last July.

One of the shooters died during the incident, and the other man was killed in what police call self defense. Police don’t expect that prosecutors will file murder or manslaughter charges.

Recent gun and bullet analysis from the Washington State Patrol crime lab confirmed what police had gathered from witness statements last summer, said Sgt. John Urquhart.

The Sheriff’s office alleges Justin Cunningham, 30, of South Seattle shot and killed Yan Keovonphet, 33. Victor Leuranad, age 21, then shot and killed Cunningham in “self defense.”

The lab work to confirm police investigations was put on a lower priority, because there wasn’t a suspect at large, Urquhart said. “They’re busy. They’re very, very, very busy.”

Charges have been filed against David Keowongphet, 30, for felon in possession of a weapon. Similar charges could come for Leuranad, Urquhart said.

Police recovered 25 shell casing from four different guns at the park.

Three other people were wounded during the shootout, but none of the injuries were life-threatening.
