State reps to talk government issues at Highlands meeting

State Representatives for the 5th District Jay Rodne and Glenn Anderson will next week meet with residents of the Issaquah Highlands to talk about the functioning of government.

State Representatives for the 5th District Jay Rodne and Glenn Anderson will next week meet with residents of the Issaquah Highlands to talk about the functioning of government.

The discussion is part of series organized by the Issaquah Highlands Government Affairs Committee, to give the community an opportunity to learn how government works firsthand, and engage with the representatives that serve the area.

The 5th district covers the Sammamish Plateau, Issaquah, Snoqualmie Valley, and Maple Valley.

The meeting with State Reps Rodne and Anderson, Republicans hailing from North Bend and Fall City respectively, is free and open to the public.

It will be held at 6.30 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 2, at Blakely Hall, 2550 NE Park Dr, Issaquah.

Each event in the government affairs series will feature different community, state and national leaders who will give presentations that delve into the details of budgets, legislation, taxes and process.

The next presentation in the series will be held on Feb. 10, and will center around explaining the governing structure of the Highlands itself.
