Crews from Five Rivers Construction removed the Northwest Dogwood Street bridge this week, ending the useful life of the 65-year-old structure and paving the way for a new bridge to be installed.

The city of Issaquah posted a time lapse video of the removal Wednesday afternoon, which you can watch above.

The section of Northwest Dogwood Street containing the bridge was closed May 26 and will remain closed through October.

The replacement bridge will include two 12-foot travel lanes, sidewalks and bike lanes, according to the project’s webpage.

The replacement is being paid through a $2.2 million federal grant, plus $563,600 from the city budget.
