The Issaquah Post Office will hold a retirement party 8 a.m. Friday morning for 47-year mail carrier Will French.

French is a veteran of the Vietnam War who earned three Purple Hearts during his service with the U.S. Army.

He joined the U.S. Postal Service after leaving the military and, in 1974, assigned to the Issaquah route that he would maintain through the remainder of his career.

“His genuine nature makes him loved by all and we will definitely miss this guy,” supervisor Don Kelly wrote in an email to the Reporter.

The Issaquah Post Office is located at 400 N.W. Gilman Blvd.
