Contribute to Issaquah schools by voting yes | Letter

Our schools are a local treasure. As a 20-year resident of Issaquah, I have witnessed the power of great schools in building a great community — one in which people vie to live. This doesn't happen by accident. It takes countless individuals making innumerable contributions. Your contribution can be to vote yes in the upcoming April school bond election. In voting yes, you are providing much needed classroom space, four new schools, land for future growth and improved learning environments for our students.

Our district is a good steward of community resources. Did you know the Issaquah School District has maintained one of the highest bond ratings in the nation for over 30 years? The high bond rating has saved taxpayers millions of dollars over the years. In addition, the district has consistently brought in new school construction on time and under budget.

We have much to be proud of in our community, especially how we value children and education. Please join me in keeping our schools the No. 1 reason people move to our community — by returning your mail ballot and voting yes between April 5-26.
