Scores and highlights from prep sports action in Issaquah and Sammamish.

Baseball

Eastside Catholic 2 O’Dea 1

The Crusaders walked-off on the Irish on senior night, taking the 2-1 win.

Alex Foley worked the first seven innings on the mound, striking out six batters and allowing only six hits, before Joe Boyce came on for the eighth.

Hayden Meier had a pair of base hits and an RBI and Travis Ulvestad also knocked in a run with a hit.

Issaquah 0 Skyline 7

Skyline got six innings on the mound from Jacob Gleichman and took an early 6-0 lead to put away Issaquah.

Five different players knocked in runs for the Spartans, and Jake Kargl finished with a pair of hits and two RBI in the win.

Arthur Stromquist worked the final inning on the mound, striking out two of the three Eagles he faced.

Softball

Skyline 1 Newport 2

Kat Wood was the winner in the circle for the Knights with a complete game two-hit performance. Wood struck out six and did not walk a batter, allowing a run in the first inning before shutting out the Spartans the rest of the way.

Bridget Raftery and India Gants had the RBI for Newport, and Madelyn Shelby had a two-hit game in the win.

Skyline 4 Eastlake 0

Four different Skyline players, Ryan Shim, Sean Curtis, Bradley Rustik and Nick Bice scored goals for the Spartans in the blowout win over their Sammamish rivals from Eastlake.

Ben Morgan picked up the shutout in goals for Skyline.

Girls tennis

Skyline 3 Garfield 4

Shrerry Huang won the number four singles match for the Spartans and Jessica Journeycake and Geline Sternbach and Kourtney Kirton and Avery Sampson won doubles matches.

Eastlake golf wins three more

Eastlake continues to look the part of a KingCo and state contender on the golf course, as coach Pat Bangasser’s squad won three more matches over Inglemoor, Redmond and Skyline.

The Wolves will send a complete contingent to Willows Run for the KingCo Medalist Tournament May 6.
