Delivering bone rattling hits in the secondary

Eastlake senior enjoys team camaraderie on the gridiron

The 2014 football season went by too fast for Eastlake Wolves senior Jeffrey Feinglas.

Feinglas, who started at wide receiver and safety, helped guide his team to the Class 4A state playoffs. Bothell eliminated Eastlake from the postseason courtesy of a 45-14 victory on Nov. 14 in Bothell in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

Eastlake finished with a 7-4 overall record. The highlight of the year was the Wolves convincing 37-17 victory against the Emerald Ridge Jaguars in a winner-to-state, loser-out playoff game on Nov. 7 in Puyallup. Emerald Ridge came into the game with the momentum of its first ever South Puget Sound League South regular season championship and had home-field advantage. It didn’t matter as the Wolves imposed their will in the matchup of evenly matched squads.

“I felt like it was a good matchup for us. We went out there and showed them what KingCo football is all about. We came out and hit them in the mouth. I feel like we set the tone and they couldn’t make it up,” Feinglas said.

Feinglas, who had his only interception of the 2014 season against the Jaguars, said his favorite part of football is making big hits in the secondary.

“I like to make tackles and just fly around the field. Hitting people and being able to make plays is fun,” he said.

Recently the Issaquah Reporter had an opportunity to ask Feinglas a few questions about his life away from the football field.
