The Eagles led after every quarter, taking a 29-25 lead to the locker room at halftime and 42-38 after three quarters.

Sabrina Norton led Issaquah with 15 points. Brooke Miller and Dayna Talley scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Issaquah will face rival Skyline next at 6:30 p.m., Saturday in a winner-to-state semifinal game at Juanita High School. The Eagles will be targeting their third win of the season against the Spartans, who they beat 47-44 and 56-44.

Eastlake fights from behind to beat Garfield in OT

Eastlake trailed Garfield by six headed into the final quarter of Wednesday’s KingCo 4A tournament opener, before rallying to beat the Bulldogs 61-60 in overtime.

Kendra Morrison’s free throw with less than a second on the clock was the difference maker in a back-and-forth overtime period.

The Wolves trailed 40-34 at the end of three quarters before battling back to tie the game 53-53 at the end of regulation.

Junior Caleigh McCabe led Eastlake with a career-high 24 points. Morrison added 16 for the Wolves.

Garfied’s Cora McManus led all scorers with 32 points.

The victory moved fifth-ranked Eastlake (12-2, 19-2) into a winner-to-state semifinal game against Woodinville (13-2, 17-5) at 8:15 p.m., Saturday at Juanita High School.

Second-half rally lifts Skyline to victory

Skyline recovered from a five-point halftime deficit in Wednesday’s KingCo 4A tournament opener to come back and defeat Inglemoor 53-46 on the road.

The Spartans outscored the Vikings 19-9 in the third quarter to take a 38-33 lead.

Megan Wiedeman led Skyline with 18 points. Michelle Bretl and Haley Smith scored 11 apiece.

Inglemoor’s Taylor Peacocke scored a game-high 20 points.

Skyline will face rival Issaquah at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at Juanita High School. The winner locks up a trip to the KingCo 4A championship and a state tournament berth. The loser plays either Garfield or Newport in a loser-out game at 4:45 p.m., Tuesday at Juanita.
