The Lakeside Recovery Senior Legion baseball team completed a successful weekend, earning a dominant two-game sweep of Liberty, Ore., on Saturday and another win over the Kirkland Merchants on Sunday.

The local group of players from Issaquah, Skyline and Newport high schools beat Liberty 6-1 and 17-0 in Saturday’s doubleheader before defeating the Merchants 8-4 for their fifth straight victory.

Skyline’s Jimmy Sinatro was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and five RBI on Sunday, while fellow Spartan Travis Snider was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Issaquah’s Brandon Mahovlich was 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Brandon Lundeberg, a 2010 Skyline graduate, earned the victory on the mound as Lakeside improved to 13-5 overall.

The team hosts Bellingham at 5 p.m., Tuesday at Newport High School, before heading off to Pullman for a three-day tournament.
