Issaquah moved past Newport behind a pair of three run home runs and a complete game two hitter from Brandon Mahovlich.

Issaquah senior Brandon Mahovlich moved his record to a perfect 4-0 with a complete game two-hitter in a 6-0 win over Newport.

Mahovlich struck out nine and walked four on 125 pitches, allowing only a pair of base hits to third baseman Mason Paul on the afternoon.

Andrew Kemmerer and Nik Sutherland took care of the offense for the Eagles, each homering and knocking in three runs.

Aaron Sandefur took the loss for the Knights, going five and one-third innings with five walks and nine strikeouts.

Eastside Catholic 14 Forest Ridge 11

Tirstana Leist scored eight goals, a season high, to lead the Crusaders to a win over Forest Ridge.

Leist now has 40 goals on the season and the win brings EC within a half-game of league leading Bellevue East and Sammamish.

Golf Fore Red back at Redmond Ridge

Bellevue-based Golf Fore Red, a non-profit that benefits the American Heart Association and Hope Hearty Institute in the fight against heart disease, will host its fifth annual tournament at Redmond Ridge on July 28 with feature guest Kayla Burt.

Burt, a former University of Washington basketball player who was clinically dead from cardiac arrest, is now an outreach coordinator for the Hope Heart Institute and will be the keynote speaker.

The event features a luncheon, round of golf and other activities including the cork-chipping contest. Players are encouraged to dress and decorate their carts red for the event.

Registration is $130 and includes breakfast, range balls, green fees, cart, lunch, prizes and a gift bag and is available online now.

Last year’s event raised $17,000.
