Skyline stops Eastlake, EC wins in comeback fashion | Prep football news

Scores and highlights from Friday night's prep football action in Issaquah and Sammamish.

Skyline won the matchup of Sammamish rivals, earning a 21-6 win over Eastlake behind a standout performance from sophomore running back Rashaad Boddie and a pair of first quarter interceptions from senior Cole Blackburn.

Boddie had a 96-yard first half touchdown run that set a school record and gave the Spartans a lead that would not be threatened.

Skyline opens division play next week at home against Roosevelt, a playoff team in 2012, while Eastlake will open its divisional slate against perennial threat Bothell.

Eastside Catholic was in danger of dropping its second game in as many weeks against Lake City (Coeur d’Alene), Idaho before a touchdown in the final minute gave them the 34-30 win.

The Crusaders open Metro League play next week on Bainbridge Island in a 7 p.m. Friday start.

Senior running back Henry Jarvis rushed 27 times for 246 yards and a pair of scores.

Issaquah was unable to slow down 3A power O’Dea, losing 51-26 to the Irish to finish the non-conference slate. The Eagles face Newport next week at home in a game that looks to carry significant postseason implications.
