State champs Skyline, Bellevue set to meet at Husky Stadium | Prep football news

Skyline and Bellevue will face off again in football in 2013 after not playing in 2012.

The game every prep football fan in Washington wanted to see will happen a year late.

Skyline and Bellevue were unable to make a non-conference game happen last year, with both facing out-of-state foes in high profile contests, but will meet in 2013 as the Emerald City Kickoff Classic returns to Seattle after taking place in Cheney last year.

The Spartans and Wolverines will meet in the last of four games on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Skyline went 14-0 to capture another 4A crown in 2012, its fourth in the past five seasons, and sent another highly-touted prospect to the Pac-12 in Gatorade National Player of the Year Max Browne.

Bellevue has not lost a game since a 28-21 setback in 2010 to a Skyline team that featured Parade All-American and current Husky Kasen Williams and has won five consecutive 3A state titles, a first in any class in football.
