Skyline’s girls cross country team finished in fourth place in the team scoring in the Division I Varsity race at the Nike Pre-Nationals in Portland, Ore. last weekend, led by the first place finish of sophomore Maizy Brewer.
Brewer ran the 5,000 meter course at Portland Meadows in 19 minutes, 49.9 seconds to get the win, edging out her closest competitor by less than a second.
Senior Alex Daugherty was ninth overall in the Division I Varsity field in a time of 20:13.71, and fellow senior Samantha Krahling was 15th overall for the Spartans.
Eric Tidball was seventh overall for the boys in the 5,000 meters senior junior varsity race, helping Skyline to a third place finish.
