The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 9
NOT-SO-HOT-DOG: Police were dispatched at 5:27 p.m. to a vehicle parked in the 5100 block of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road SE, where a pitbull was reported to be sitting in a hot truck. Upon arrival, police found that the truck was actually in the shade, and the windows were rolled down two inches. A crowd of people had gathered around the vehicle and were reporting that the truck had been there five to seven hours, but no one could confirm this.
Sept. 10
NAPPING ON THE JOB: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle with a subject inside parked in the 1400 block of NW Gilman Blvd. at 5:32 a.m. Police ran the license plate and found neither warrants nor wants. Upon waking the sleeping subject in the vehicle, police found that he was in fact the registered owner. He stated that he had come from out of town for a business meeting and arrived early, so he decided to take a nap.
A MINOR SCRAPE: At 1:41 p.m., a person fell off of a bicycle in the 100 block of Front St. S. Eastside Fire and Rescue assisted and provided aid, and the cyclist was able to ride away from the scene.
HOT BIRDS: Two birds were reported to be sitting in a hot car in the 1000 block of NW Gilman Blvd. at 2:04 p.m. Police were unable to locate the bird car.
SPRINKLING THE TOWN WITH MISCHIEF: A man in the 100 block of NW Alder Place reported at 3:41 p.m. that an unknown person had damaged his sprinkler head. Police looked around and observed that a yard service had been there very recently.

LOCKED INTO A SCAM: A person contacted police from a curb in the 400 block of Newport Way NW at 1:11 a.m. The man said that he had called for a locksmith using an 888 number from magiclocksmith.net, which was now showing a $20 service fee.
Sept. 13
JEWELRY M.I.A.: A woman in the 100 block of Timber Ridge Way NW called to report a missing jewelry box at 2:21 p.m. She said she recently moved to Issaquah from Bellevue and cannot find her jewelry box. Inside the box were a gold necklace with a figure of Pope John Paul II and about 20 sets of earrings. The woman said she already notified her family, who had helped her move, and that they will notify Bellevue police.
LEAKY TRUCK: A resident in the 1000 block of NE Park Drive reported at 2:41 p.m. that there had been a truck parked in front of his home for four days. The man said that some kind of liquid was leaking from the engine. Police visited the site and found the liquid to be radiator fluid. The registered owner lived only a few doors down, so police attempted to contact him. When he did not answer, police left a note asking him to move his vehicle.
GAMING GRIPES: At 11:20 p.m., sounds resembling a domestic dispute were reported from the 700 block of Eighth Ave. NE, so police went to investigate. Upon arrival, it was found that there were two males inside the apartment arguing over a video game. Police attempted to make contact with the males but could not reach them.
Sept. 14
EVERYDAY DANGER: A man in the 900 block of High Street made a report at 3:18 p.m. of a car that regularly speeds down his street early every morning, nearly striking pedestrians. Police were asked to look out for the vehicle.
CONVENIENT EXCUSE: Police contacted a panhandler on the I-90 ramp at exit 15 and told the man that he is not allowed to panhandle on the on/off ramps. The panhandler said that he understood, but told police that he has a disease that makes it so that he has no short-term memory.
